Trick or treat?

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

This is the last day to help me raise funds for ASPCA in celebration of my first birthday. If you'd like to make a small contribution, here's the link:

THANK YOU again to all of you who have already made a donation.  It doesn't look as if I'm going to reach my goal of $500, but I'm hoping my fundraiser makes a difference.

I'm keeping an eye on you!

I guess I'm an Uncle.

Just a few more days to go to help me raise funds for ASPCA in celebration of my first birthday. If you'd like to make a small contribution, here's the link:

A big THANK YOU to those who have already made a donation.

My mom, Cali, lives with Carol and Mike and they are the ones who gave me to the old guy for his 80th birthday last December.  Now, they've just had their first baby, a little girl named Zoey.  She was born on September 29, which kinda makes me feel like I'm an uncle or something.  My mom's not quite sure what to think of the new addition to the family, but she was a great mom to me and I'm sure she will look out for her.  I was hoping that Zoey would wait until October 1 to be born, so we could share the same birthday, but she was in a hurry to see this wonderful world and came a few days early.  Cute, huh?

I'm so excited!  Troglodite (Sonny), one of my biggest fans sent me a gift certificate for custom photo stamps as a birthday present.  The old guy uploaded one of Rich's photos of me for it and my stamps arrived in the mail yesterday.  The old guy tried scanning one of the stamps yesterday and this is how it looks.  Very cool!  Thanks again, Sonny.

Having fun in a box

Last night was trash night, so the old guy asked Rich to toss out the cardboard box I've been playing with for the last couple of weeks.  Rich decided to let me have some fun with it one last time before it went in the recycling bin.  I don't think the old guy could swing me around like Rich did, but I sure had a nice little ride while Rich played rough with me.  I'm sorry to see my box go, but I know it won't be long before Rod goes to Trader Joe's and replenishes his supply of "Two Buck Chuck".

I'm still trying to raise funds for the ASPCA to celebrate my birthday month.  Just a few more days to go and I'm nowhere near my goal.  If you'd like to make a small contribution, here's the link:

My tube is back

I'm celebrating my first birthday by raising funds for ASPCA during October.  If you'd like to make a small donation, here's the link:

I got my tube back.  Yea!  The old guy stashed my tube away because there was a nasty wire sticking out that could have really hurt me.  Rich was finally able to clip it off and repair the cloth, so they are letting me play with it again.  I've really taken over the living room with all of my stuff, but the old guy doesn't seem to mind.  He just wishes he had some of my energy. I'm not as frisky as I was when I was a little kitten and I'm trying to watch my weight so that Rod doesn't call me a "fat cat".

I just got a really cool present.

I am really stoked.  Troglodite (Sonny), one of my biggest fans, sent me a pack of photo stamps in the mail today. Thank you, thank you, thank you!  I'm going to ask Rich and the old guy to pick one of my best photos and upload it, so the post office can print my very own customized stamps and send them to me.  How cool is that?

Thirsty!

I don't know why, but I'm really fascinated with water and I try to get the old guy to run the faucet for me all the time. He thinks it's about as interesting as watching grass grow and says there's a shortage of water, so I shouldn't waste it.  I try to drink as much of it as possible, but some goes down the drain.  Maybe he could just fill the sink and leave the water in there, but I don't think that would be anywhere near as much fun.

I need to recharge my batteries.

Yesterday, it was just too darn hot to do much of anything.  Rich recharged the remote mouse and tried to get me to chase it around, but I really wasn’t in the mood.  I was able to grab it a few times, but I certainly wasn’t going to exert myself just so the old guy could make another video.  I wonder if Rich could recharge me?

Leave no door closed.

I'm still trying to collect donations for ASPCA and would really appreciate a little help.  Here's the link:

It's been kinda boring the last few days, with Rich shooting a triathlon down in Huatulco, Mexico.  He's due back late tonight, but meanwhile, I've been trying to liven things up a little with a little exploring.  It was a bit difficult, but I was finally able to get the door open in the old guy's office closet.  He's got all kinds of stuff in there, but nothing really worth all the effort to get in there.  I even found my old green cube that I thought Rod tossed out a long time ago.  I don't think he ever really throws anything away.  Maybe Rich will bring me back something from Mexico.  That would be a nice surprise.

I'm having fun with a cardboard box.

I'm still trying to collect donations for ASPCA and would really appreciate a little help.  Here's the link:

Rich is shooting a race in Huatulco, Mexico this weekend for the International Triathlon Union, so the old guy and I are spending a quiet couple of days at home.  Rich and he took me to the vet a couple of days ago to have my claws trimmed again and they weighed me while I was there.  I now weigh 14 pounds 9 ounces, so I guess it really is time to start watching my diet.  I'm still pretty active and don't really look all that chubby, but I'm beginning to notice it takes a little extra effort to jump up to my hiding place above the office closet.

The old guy bought another case of "Two Buck Chuck" the other day and was going to throw the carton away until I pounced on it.  I can really have fun with it, but I have to admit that I sometimes get a little too wild and that's when Rod had better watch out.  When I put my ears back  and get into the "attack mode" he knows it's time to bring out the Band-Aids, or cover up his arms.  I hope he keeps it around for a few more days.

There's a Mouse in the house.

I'm not sure who has more fun playing with my toys--me or Rich.  The old guy wasn't feeling so good yesterday, so Rich brought back a light dinner from Mimi's for him.  After dinner, Rich put my remote mouse in the bag and we all had lots of fun with it.  I wonder what I'd do with a real mouse?

Yesterday was World Animal Day and the old guy and I were both thinking about how lucky we are to have each other.  World Animal Day celebrates all animal life and humankind's relationship with the animal kingdom.  Animals can really be great companions and enrich lives.

My mom, Cali, was a stray calico and she was lucky enough to be adopted by Mike and Carol, two of the old guys young friends.  It turned out that she was pregnant, but had only two kittens in her litter--my sister and me.  Carol knew that Rod had been really lonely since his wife died, so she gave me to him as his 80th birthday present.  He says I've made a really big difference in his life and he takes really good care of me.  October 1 was my 1st birthday, so we decided to raise funds for ASPCA throughout the month as a thank you for the good work they do.  You can help me reach my goal of raising $500 with a small donation of just $10 by contributing on the following link:

Thank you.

My Remote Mouse

October 1 was my first  birthday, so Rich and the old guy had a little party for me.  As most of my fans know, the old guy is really cheap, but Rich bought me a bunch of cool presents, including a remote mouse.  It's kinda slow on the carpet, but it really zips around on the kitchen floor.  Rich took a video of me having fun with it while the old guy worked the remote.  All kinds of fun!  I think even the old guy enjoyed it.

I'm still trying to raise money for the ASPCA during October to celebrate my birthday, but I'm not having much luck.  Rich and Rod thought I should be able to raise $500 with a bunch of small donations from all of my fans.  The fund raising page will accept donations as small as $10.  It's for a good cause and you'd make me very happy, plus you'd have a good feeling.  Here's the link if you'd like to donate:

My Birthday Party

October 1 was my first birthday, so Rich and the old guy helped me celebrate with a special little can of food and the Happy Birthday song.  What fun!  The old guy says that one year old for a cat is the equivalent of about 18 human years.  I guess I’m at that “awkward” age.

The old guy is too cheap to buy me any presents, but Rich bought me all kinds of stuff.  The old guy says I should be happy just playing with paper bags and cardboard boxes.  I dunno.  I have fun with all the stuff, but I sometimes think that Rich has as much fun with my stuff as I do.  I’m going to post a separate blog showing me playing with a remote mouse that Rich bought for me yesterday. Even the old guy enjoyed that.

Don’t forget that I’m trying to raise funds for ASPCA this month to celebrate my birthday.  I have a goal of $500 and a LONG way to go.

Walking on Water

I don’t know why the old guy has that big bathtub in his bathroom.  He never uses it and just takes showers.  Yesterday, Rich put some water in the bath while Rod was at the dentist and let me check it out.  I got down in the tub and was able to wade around for a while.  It felt like I was walking on water.  I’m glad Rich didn’t completely fill up the tub, or I would have needed to learn how to swim.  I’ll leave that to the dumb dogs.

Don’t forget to celebrate my first birthday this month with a small donation to ASPCA.  Rich and the old guy are thinking of having a prize drawing at the end of the month for all donors.
