Please Vote

Geez, I think I may have overdone the rough stuff a little too much today and now the old guy is mad at me.  He says my toys are taking up too much room and I need to get rid of some of them for a while.  His son, Rich bought me a nice new cube the other day and now Rod is making me choose between the old one and the new one.

I'm kind of used to the old green one and I still have a lot of fun with it. but maybe it is getting a little worn out.  The new red one has more bounce to it, but it isn't broken in properly yet.  What should I do?  I can keep using the old green one until I totally thrash it, or stash it away for a while and play with the new one.  I'll need to break in the new one and will definitely need to show it who''s boss.  Decisions, decisions!  What do you think I should do?  Please cast your vote in "Comment".

Tibbles on the Attack.

I was just having fun this afternoon, but sometimes I forget how ancient the old guy is and I guess I play a little to rough for him.  I’m only playing, but I think I may have got him a little mad at me in the process this time.  Boy, he sure does bleed easily!  Get another Bandaid, Rod.

Tibbles Has a New Cube

I was still having fun with my beat up old green cube, but Rod's son, Rich, surprised me with a nice new red one when he came to visit the other day.  I still like to play with both of them, but the old guy is telling me I'm going to have to choose because all my toys are taking up too much room.

I'm trying both of my cubes out for a while longer, but the biggest fun I'm having is with a little bag tie I found on the kitchen floor.  It doesn't take much to make me happy.  The old guy says, "Little things please little minds."  Huh!  Maybe that's why he enjoys following me around with his stupid camera.

Tibbles follows the little red light.

I've been through quite a bit this week and just wanted to kick back and relax tonight.  After all, it's not every day you get neutered.  However, the old guy tells me I have some fans out there who think I have to entertain  them every day, so I'll do my best even though my heart isn't really in it.

Rod has a laser light that his son, Greg, gave him to torment me with and he chose tonight to do it.  I'm never sure where that little red light is going to show up and it's driving me up the wall--literally.  Gimme a break already!

MEEOW! I sure didn't see that coming.

What a day!  I was expecting a fun time, but soon after the old guy dropped me off at the vet, they stuck a mask over my face and I was out like a light.  When I woke up, I was very groggy and discovered I’d permanently lost my little rattle.  Why would they want to do that?  They also implanted a microchip in my neck and clipped my claws.  I didn’t need a baby tooth pulled after all, so that was good.  I got to stay at the vets all day and Rod came and picked me up around 4PM.
Boy, I’m hungry, but the vet said I shouldn’t have anything to eat for the rest of the day.  I’m going to see if I can get the old guy to feed me at least a little something before we go to bed.  I asked him what happened to me today and Rod said I had been neutered.  I didn’t understand, so he showed me a slide show about what was done:

The model in the slide show isn’t as cute as me, but his name is Shadow.  That was the name of a cat that Rod’s daughter, Jill, had for many years.  I still don’t know why he let them do it to me, but Rod said that—from here on—the only tail I’ll be chasing will be my own.  I told him, “I don’t get it?” and he said, “That’s right!”  Now I’m really confused.
I'm beat.  Let's go to bed.
It’s been a long day, so I’m going to head for bed.  I’m hoping I’ll be feeling like my old self tomorrow.

All Kinds of Excitement

Rich came to visit his dad and me last night and we had all kinds of fun.  He’s got a lot more energy than the old man and really gave me a workout, but I was able to nail him a couple of times and draw a little blood.  Fun times!

Rich is a professional photographer and is well known for his endurance sports photos.  Rod doesn’t do too badly with his little camera, but Rich took a couple of great shots of me that really show my best attributes.

Aren't I a real cutie?
I'm cute, but I can be mean, so don't mess with me.

I’m not sure what’s going on, but the old guy wouldn’t give me anything to eat or drink after 9:00pm last night.  I was really excited about spending the day at Tri-City Veterinary today, but now I’m not so sure.  Rod stuffed me in the cardboard pet carrier early this morning and dumped me off unceremoniously with the vet.  I heard him talking to the receptionist about me getting neutered and now I’m beginning to wonder what it’s all about.  The lady said they would be putting me under to do the surgery and would also be running a few other tests.  They are also going to pull a baby tooth, clip my nails again and implant a microchip while they’re at it.  That way, Rod has a good chance of finding me if I happen to get outside by accident.

I’ll let all of my fans know how I’m doing when I get back home.

Tibbles out of tune.

I'm still finding a few new things to check out at the old guys place.  He was trying to play some tunes on the piano today, but he wasn't very good, so I figured I'd give it a try.  It's a little harder than it looks and Rod told me I have a tin ear.  I guess I'll stick with with perfecting my acrobatic skills.

The Cube--Tibbles' Favorite Toy

I have all kinds of toys to play with, but the cube that Rod's son, Rich, bought me is my favorite.  I can do all kinds of things with it and it's easy to move around anywhere in the house.  Thank you, Rich.

A place for Tibbles to Relax

I have two cat beds, a cat condo, a cube and--of course--the old guy's bed, but I still kind of like my special sink in the master bathroom as a place to  relax.  That's where I usually hang out when the bathroom door is open and the faucet isn't running.

Printer Problems

I don't know how Rod ever managed to get anything done before I came along.  I try
to help him out as much as possible, but his equipment really needs to be fixed.  I'm taking a look at his printer to see if there's anything I can do to get it working properly.

A Trip to the Vet

I got to go to the vet today for my last shot and to get retested for feline leukemia.  The last time they tested me they said the results were marginal.  This time I tested negative, so that's a good thing.  I should outlive the old guy.  When that happens, his son, Rich, is going to adopt me.

Everyone at Tri-City Veterinary Clinic is really nice and very friendly.  It's not much fun when Rod dumps me in that cardboard box to take me there, but the lady assistant seems to like me and really knows how to handle me.  The shot I got today was for rabies and it's the last one in the series.

Next Tuesday, Rod is scheduled to take me back to get me neutered.  I don't know what that is, but it sure sounds exciting.  I get to stay there the whole day.  It should be a fun day.

Helping out the old guy.

Rod is getting up in years and has a tough time trying to do all of his own housework.  I tried to help him sort out the laundry the other day, but he didn't really seem to appreciate it.

Tough Love on Valentine's Day

There's nothing like snuggling up with someone you love in a nice, comfortable chair.  Of course my stupid tail still keeps getting in the way, but I do want to let the old guy know that I really do love him.  I don't know why he doesn't seem to appreciate my little love nips.  I'm just trying to say, "Happy Valentine's Day!"

The Tale of My Tail.

Ever since I was born, I've been wondering what this thing is that appears to be permanently attached to my rear end.  It follows me around wherever I go and doesn't seem to serve any good purpose, except as something to play with when I'm bored.  Rod tells me it's called a tail and that I'd better get used to it.  Whatever!

Sometimes, after I get through messing up Rod's house, I give him a break and share his favorite chair for an afternoon nap.  Invariably, my stupid "tail" starts wagging and I just have to go after it.  It can really be a pain in the butt--especially when I catch it.

My Balancing Act

So, Rod tells me people have been enjoying my little pratfall while I was exploring the kitchen the other day.  Ha, ha, very funny, or lol as they say on-line!  I hope you all enjoyed yourselves at my expense.  Actually, I want everyone to know that I’m extremely athletic and very capable of landing on my own four feet.  I wonder how many of you could have done that?

Just to prove my balance and dexterity, here’s another little video Rod took of me while I was getting my morning exercise the other day.

I'm climbing to new heights.

I've been checking out my new home over the last couple of months and keep finding more and more places to explore.  By the way, I need to tell Rod that the dust is gathering on top of the kitchen cupboards and he needs to do some spring cleaning up there.  It's not easy getting up to some of these places, but I'm pretty smart and very nimble.  In fact, I have complete control over my movements.  That's why I don't understand why people seem to find this video of me so amusing.  They must have a very strange sense of humor.

Paws

Life is pretty simple for me.  If it rolls or dangles, it's a toy.  When Rod takes his shower in the morning, he always hangs his robe on the bathroom door.  That's when I have fun trying to grab the tie.  As Rod found out, I'll attack anything that dangles.  Sorry about that Rod.  I know it must be difficult to put adhesive bandages on some body parts.   He now makes sure he's covered up before coming out of the bathroom.

Checking out my new digs

So, where the heck am I?
After Carol and Mike gave my sister to one of their friends, I was getting pretty used to hanging out with my mom and them in Escondido.  On December 8th, I was in for a big surprise.  All of a sudden, they stuff me in a pet carrier and take me to an old man's home in Vista.  Boy was I scared.  When they took me in the house and let me out of the carrier, I scooted under the sofa and didn't come out for over an hour.  When I finally ventured out, Carol and Mike had gone and Rod, the old man, started to try and make friends with me.  He obviously knew I was coming and had a bunch of cool stuff ready for me to play with and everything for keeping a kitty happy.

I was about nine weeks old, but Carol and Mike had already taught me how to use a litter box and Rod had a nice covered one ready for me, plus food, water and all kinds of toys.  He also had a bed for me, but I let him know in a hurry that I'd be sharing his big bed at night.

Rod, Tibbles, Jubilee and her puppies in
Bromley, Kent around 1937.
Rod said he was going to call me Tibbles.  It's kind of a weird name, but he said he remembered his family had a cat named Tibbles  before WWII started, when he was growing up in the UK.  So Tibbles it is.

Rod has been living by himself since his wife died a few years ago and I guess he's been kind of lonely.  He has lots of time to spend with me, but he says there are too many coyotes where he lives, so he's not going to let me outside.  That's not so bad.  It's a pretty big house and I keep finding new things to do and different places to explore.

I'll tell you more about my adventures as time goes by.

Fun with a paper bag

I had fun playing with a plain old paper bag from Trader Joe's!

Family Portrait

Here's a photo of me with my mom and my sister. I'm the cute little kitten on the left. I think I inherited my big ears from my momma.

My Mom

My mom's name is Cali and she's really beautiful. She lives with Carol and Mike in Escondido.
