Tibs & the Angry Bird

It's been kind of quiet over the last few days.  I've been snuggling up with the old guy for some nice long naps and having fun playing with some of my new toys with Rich.  The Hartz Angry Birds are all kinds of fun, but it can be pretty frustrating when I can't catch them.  Rich makes sure that he makes it as hard as possible for me and I've got to find some new ways to outsmart him.  I've got a few things tucked away in my head and--if they don't work--I've done an extra good job of sharpening my claws.  Bring 'em on!

Trimming the tree.

It’s a little late, but we’re finally getting into the holiday spirit at the old guy’s house.  I was a real little kitty last Christmas and Rod decided he would forego a tree.  This year, Rich happened to find out that Walmart was giving away their leftover trees, so he snagged a really nice one and brought it home.  I’ve been helping him decorate it and it’s really pretty.  I guess I’ll be a good kitty and not mess with it, but it sure is a temptation.  I wonder how long they’ll keep it up?  I hope it’s until at least after the New Year.

Happy Holidays!

A big "Thank You" to Rich for making this very special greetings card for me.
Happy Holidays to you all.

PLaying "Angry Birds" with Rich

When I play with Rich, it’s a lot different than playing with the old guy and I really get a workout.  Last night, he had me up on top of his wardrobe trying to catch one of the Angry Birds toys that Hartz sent to me.  It sure was a lot of fun, but he totally wore me out and I had to take a break with Rod when we were through playing.  I’m glad my claws have grown back quite a bit in the last couple of weeks and I was able to grab that bird quite a few times while we were playing.

Having fun with the old guy and angry bird.

The old guy has been getting kinda lazy lately about helping me with my blog and I hate to admit it, but I need a little help from him.  He and Rich left me all alone on Sunday and went up to San Clemente to have brunch with all of the family.  Jill, the old guys daughter, was visiting for a few hours and handing out Christmas presents.  She was really generous and one of her presents for Rich was an iPhone telephoto lens kit.  Here’s a shot of me in my new cube that was taken with it.  Pretty cool.

The old guy also got to see his great-grandson, Odin, for the first time and is really proud of him.  He finally spent some time with me last night and we had some fun on his chair with the angry bird I got as a gift from Hartz.  When I’m playing with the old guy, I don’t even have to get up and can just have fun while I’m lying on his lap.  Rich makes me chase all over the house.  I’ll have a video of Rich playing with me with the same toy on my next blog.  What a difference!

I'm feeling a little neglected.

Odin Cruse Anderson

It looks like I have a little competition these days.  Carli, the old guy's granddaughter just gave birth to Rod's first great-grandson, Odin Cruse Anderson, on December 13.  He weighed in at over 8-1/2 pounds, but he's still not close to my almost 15 pounds.  Rod hasn't been talking much about anything else since Odin appeared on the scene.  I'm happy for the old guy, but I hope he gets back to paying a little more attention to me.  We did get to snooze on the chair for a couple of hours this afternoon, so that was cool. Tomorrow, the old guy's daughter, Jill, will be coming to Orange County for a few hours to have brunch with the family.  She's pulling an inspection trip to Vietnam over the holidays, so she won't be home for Christmas.  I guess I'll be on my own while Rich and the old guy go up to San Clemente, so  I'm glad I've got all those nice new toys from Hartz to play with while they're away.

Some really cool presents from Hartz.

Wow!  Rich contacted Hartz to see if they had any angry birds for cats and he talked to a really nice lady.  She ended up sending me a whole box of toys as a special Christmas present.  What a nice surprise! I have so much fun stuff now that I’m not sure where to begin.  I sure am lucky.  Thank you Rich, and thank you very much, Hartz.  I wish I could share some of this stuff with kitties that aren’t as fortunate as me.  I’ll try not to act like a really spoiled pussycat.

Oh, the weather outside is frightful...

It's on days like this that I'm really glad to be an indoor kitty.  We live in sunny Southern California, but it's been cold and raining and there's supposed to be more of the same for the next few days.  A perfect time to curl up and relax with the old guy.

Hangin' With Rich

I always know I can have some fun when Rich is around.  He plays hard and likes to try and trick me, but I'm pretty smart and can usually figure him out.  I really like it when he lets me jump in the cube and then he swings me around.  The old guy isn't very good at that kind of stuff, but he can at least take a video of me while I'm playing.

Christmas is coming and I'm looking forward to getting a bunch more "stuff" to play with while I'm laying around the house.

Getting Ready for the Holidays.

The old guy ordered some special Xmas stamps a few days ago and they arrived in the mail today.  That was fast.  Rich tried to put a silly Santa hat on me for the photo, but I sure wasn’t going to put up with that.  He finally put it on top of a can of shaving cream and then plonked it on my head in Photoshop.  Pretty clever and I’ve gotta admit it’s kinda cute.  Thanks again to my big fan, Sonny, for sending us the certificate for the stamps.  The old guy doesn’t use snail mail very much anymore, so we’re going to have enough stamps to last us quite a while.

I had a quiet day on Thursday because Rich was invited to a special event that Sony put on down in San Diego.  He was gone all day and got to stay at the Hard Rock hotel that night.  He didn’t get back until late in the afternoon yesterday.  The old guy is good company, but doesn’t move around all that much, so it’s fun when Rich comes back and plays hard with me for a while.  He doesn’t think I saw them, but he picked up two new cubes for me.  I think he’s waiting to give them to me as Xmas presents.  I wonder if the old guy will be a Scrooge, or break down and get me something as well?
